Painful #2
4:12pm Here I am again. Work completed since this time yesterday = exactly, er, seven minutes? I slept from 11pm to 1pm, and not too sure what I’ve done - well from 2-4, it’s browsing lots of internet, rationalizing: “I can’t start quite yet, I just need to take a little break, I just want a little entertainment, take a break, I’m not happy enough to start...
Painful
Alright. It’s one twenty three on Monday, and because I’ve been at this computer lab for 60 hours now (NOT kidding) and STILL haven’t finished the Introduction and Methods that I was supposed to hand in 37 hours ago (YES, I REALLY don’t know what I did with my time since then) I’m going to keep a log. I really need to get better at limiting my impulse control when it comes to the internet. Reading that article about the middle schoolers quitting the internet for two days sort of drove home the point for me; it’s a bit like eating sugar, in that it just contributes more to my sense of scatteredness and feeling out of control.

Guidelines for restarting
1. DON’T LET YOURSELF DO ANYTHING ELSE BEFORE YOU START! REMEMBER THE DISTRACTION MANAGER.
2. LISTEN TO MUSIC. U2 station on Pandora is good, or Manu Chao station.
3. Read the quotes on this page about MENTAL POWER.
4. Start an easy task if you need to, then go on.
JUST KEEP GOING. THIS WILL GET BETTER AND BETTER THE MORE INCREMENTAL WORK YOU...
